Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Brella SweatControl Patch is a quick, comfortable, non-invasive, in-office treatment that significantly reduces excessive underarm sweating for three to four months.

  • Are you an adult that wants to sweat less or be less bothered by your underarm sweat? Do you find yourself reapplying deodorant throughout the day or steering away from white/light colored shirts because of the potential for breakthrough sweat? If you answered yes to any of these, you may benefit from a Brella treatment.

  • The Brella SweatControl Patch is a thin sodium sheet with an adhesive backing. When the Patch is applied to the underarm, the sodium interacts with the water in your sweat, generating heat. The heat precisely targets your underarm sweat glands to significantly reduce sweat production.

  • Brella is safe and generally well tolerated. You may experience treatment-related minor redness or irritation, which typically resolves immediately after the procedure. Some patients had tenderness or sensitivity that lasted up to 48 hours

  • You will need to shave or clip your underarms at least 48 hours before treatment. On the day of your appointment, wear loose-fitting clothing (i.e., a tank top). Make sure you drink plenty of water so you are hydrated. Avoid wearing deodorant or antiperspirant to the appointment if possible.

  • You are free to resume normal activities post-treatment. You may experience some sensitivity or tenderness in your underam area. If you are not having any sensitivity or tenderness, you can apply deodorant and carry out hair removal as you normally do. If the underarm feels irritated or tender, we recommend waiting until it resolves.
